———- David is a production designer based in Melbourne, Australia. In 2011 he was the designer in residence for MKA Theatre’s inaugural play season designing productions of Sleepyhead, 22 Short Plays, The Horror Face and J.A.T.O. He has also designed set and costumes for Dreamsong, a new musical presented by the VCA Music Theatre, and the set for productions of West Side Story (VCA Music Theatre), Kassandra (written and directed by Marcel Dorney) and Honey Bunny’s Sagittarian Full Moon Finale (written and directed by Julian Hobba).

David has previously designed the sets for the Australian premiere of Becky Shaw (written by Gina Gionfriddo, directed by Indira Carmichael, presented in the Lawler Studio) and The Possibilities (written by Howard Barker, presented at Sidetrack Theatre). He also designed productions of Fame, Annie, A Christmas Carol, Oliver!, Oh! What a Lovely War and High School Musical.In 2009 David completed a Graduate Diploma in Production Design at the Victorian College of the Arts where he designed the set for 10|01 (devised and directed by Sapidah Kian) and set and costumes for Christie in Love (written by Howard Brenton, directed by Fiona Hallenan-Barker). He was also awarded the 2009 Trina Parker Design Scholarship.
During earlier study of the Bachelor of Production at the Victorian College of the Arts, David designed the set for One For The Road (written by Harold Pinter, directed by Brendan O’Connell) and Too Young For Ghosts (written by Janis Balodis, directed by Ailsa Piper). He also worked on Navigators (2006 Melbourne Arts Festival), Into The Woods, Top Girls, Boxed In and The Saint Plays (MTC) in varying roles.

David has previously been employed as a design assistant to Richard Roberts for DiVino (National Institute of Circus Arts) and My Fair Lady (Opera Australia).
